MD$, born Santeri Kauppinen, is a Helsinki-based, six-time Grammy-nominated producer in the United States and an American Music Award-winning hitmaker whose visionary creativity has established him as one of the leading names in both the Finnish and international music industries. MD$’s work can be heard on records by global stars including Burna Boy, G-Eazy, AJ Tracey, 6lack, and Megan Thee Stallion, among many others. In addition to his Grammy nominations, MD$ has received three nominations for Producer of the Year at the Emma Gala in 2019, 2020, and 2022. Among his latest international achievements are records with YoungBoy Never Broke Again (Teary Eyes feat. Burna Boy), Burna Boy (Empty Chairs feat. Mick Jagger), and Jastin Martin (Clear Skies). He has also collaborated extensively with other top-tier producers on major international projects, including Modo Capone by Chino Pacas featuring Drake and Fuerza Regida alongside Danitello, GRWM by G-Eazy with Fractious Frank, as well as Nostalgia and LAX by Sleepy Hallow alongside Ruuben and GoodJobLarry. While MD$’s influence continues to grow internationally, he also actively creates opportunities and develops talent within the Finnish music scene. In 2019, he co-founded Fountain Productions in Helsinki, establishing both a production house and producer collective that helped elevate Finnish production expertise onto a global stage.
